Supriya Desai Lay is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist who obtained an M.S. in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College New York, graduating top of her class. She is certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. Prior to studying Chinese Medicine, Supriya received her Bachelors in International Economics from George Washington University and worked for three years as an IT Consultant. After encouragement from her physician parents (particularly her mom!), Supriya embarked on the path to becoming an acupuncturist in order to make a substantial difference in people's lives each day, and she has never looked back!

 

As a self-proclaimed people person, her compassionate treatment style emphasizes personal communication with patients coupled with successful clinical results. Supriya also stresses co-accountability in all her patients' treatment plans, as the path to healing is truly a partnership between practitioner and patient. Her personal motto is that one only has one life as this particular unique being, so it's important to make the most of each and every day, and she carries this energy and enthusiasm into her work… each and every day!

 

Supriya graduated from her Masters program in Chinese Medicine in 2013 and has been practicing ever since (first three years in Lawrence, then four years in Brooklyn, and now, once more back in Kansas!). She loves spending time with her patients, truly hearing their concerns, and most importantly, helping educate them by explaining her treatment approach, so they feel empowered to make consistent lifestyle changes to better support their healing.
